Your efforts will help protect people, wildlife and coastal economies, while keeping our drinking water clean and safe..
Last year, 1200 volunteers removed over 14,000 pounds of debris from Rivers, Urban Streams, Ocean, and beyond. Check out our photos of events. WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?Ocean Blue Project invites Oregonians of all ages to participate. Businesses, church groups, students, families, and individuals have all participated in cleanup events. Would you like to register a group clean up event? We also work with Universities and Service Learning Projects, that may help with extra credit.
HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN OCEAN IMPACT
VOLUNTEER FOR AN EVENT - If you are with a school, business, club or other organization, we have a variety of service learning projects to fit your needs. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us directly - CONTACT START YOUR OWN OCEAN FUNDRAISER - Email your friends and family involved to raise money for clean water, or native tree's, for planting along rivers! Take Action - Make phone calls, write letters, to decision makers about treats to the environment and join our social network
ANNUAL WILLAMETTE RIVER CLEAN UP - Pledge to pick up litter in your community, to keep our ocean clean
INTERNSHIPS FOR THE OCEAN - Ocean Blue offers internships for students for extra activities, or as part of your class requirements. We offer paid and unpaid internships, during Summer, Spring, and during the Fall Terms.
REPORT ILLEGAL DUMPING OR POLLUTION - Please report illegal dumping, litter, or other forms of pollution. Email the address, or cross street address, along with photos, to Richard@oceanblueproject.org
EDUCATE FRIENDS AND FAMILY - inform others the importance of clean water, recycling, and composting.
REFUSE TO BUY PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES - 17 Million barrels of oil are used just to produce the plastic water bottles consumed in the United States.
MAKE A PLEDGE - Pledge to pick up two pieces of litter everyday for thirty days!
