Hundreds of thousands of animals have washed to shore and this maybe the cause of the red tides. It's time we take care of our urban streams and rivers that have been so over looked as the back bone to healthy oceans.
Runoff water flows into street drains then into urban streams to larger rivers and into our Ocean. Algae consumes all the oxygen leaving animals to die.
How Can We Stop Red Tides?
One of the best ways to save our sea from red tides would be to clean everything up stream. Our communities should stop spraying pesticides, herbicides, lower pollution runoff from local farms, and start investing our dollars back into our waterways and enhance our city sewage overflow setbacks. Animals and humans are suffering daily with health effects on the rise.
